Floyd M. "Mitch" Ellenberger, 88, of Spring Church, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, in his home. He was born May 26, 1921, in Echo, Pa., a son of Charles and Hazel (Troutman) Ellenberger. He lived in Washington Township and Kiski Township most of his life and was employed by People's Natural Gas Co. for 40 years before retiring in 1980 as an office manager in Grove City. Floyd was an Air Force veteran and a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Vandergrift, Apollo Masonic Lodge No. 437 and the Pittsburgh Consistory. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gertrude Christine (McLachlan) Ellenberger, of Spring Church; daughter ... son ... eight grandchildren ... and 11 great-grandchildren. At the family's request, visitation and services will be private in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo, PA 15613, with the Rev. Keith Deckinger.
