The funeral of John F. Bell, a well known citizen of Rural Valley, took place at that place Monday afternoon and the services were largely attended. Death occurred on March 10th. Deceased was born in 1840 and was one of the many brave young Americans who heard his coutry's call in the stirring days of 1861. He served two terms of enlistement, one with Co. H, 5th Reg. Penna Art., and the other with Co. A, 135th Penna Vol. He is survived by the following children: Curtis J. Bell, New Kensington; D.L. Bell, Yatesboro; J. F. Bell Jr., Kittanning; Mrs. Harry Oaks, Dayton; Harry Bell, of Yatesboro. Twenty-three grand children and seven great grandchikldren also survive, as well as one brother, James Bell, of Simpsons' Church. |
