"MOTHER OF MRS. J.D. CURREN DIES FROM EFFECTS OF FALL "Mrs. Martha Duke, widow of the late William Duke, died at her home in Rural Valley Friday morning at 1:30 o'clock after a confinement of eight weeks to her bed. Mrs. Duke suffered a severe fall and never fully recovered from the effects. After the death of her husband seven years ago, Mrs. Duke moved from their farm in Cowanshannock township to Rural Valley where she continued to reside. She was a member of the Rural Valley Methodist church. "Deceased was aged 83 years and is survived by seven children, William, of Denver, Col.; Arthur, of Baker, Minn.; Mrs. Minnie Brown, of Dayton, Pa.; Mrs. Braid Anderson, of Indiana, Pa.; Mrs. John Reese, of East Palestine, O.; Mrs. J.D. Curran, of Kittanning; and Miss Jennie, at home. One sister, Mrs. Belle Stewart, of Rural Valley, also survives. "Funeral services will be held at the residence Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Rural Valley cemetery." |
