| George A. Freyermuth of Fredonia, founder and head of Freyermuth Mills, extensive chain of flour and feed mills, died suddenly at his home in Fredonia yesterday, Dec. 21, 1942, at one o'clock. Mr. Freyermuth was taken with a heart attack while he was sacking oats at his Sandy Lake mill at 10:30. His son, Oliver, summoned from Fredonia, took his father to the family home where he passed away. He was born in Crawford County, Nov 12, 1879, a son of Jacob and Catherine Stein Freyermuth. For the past 27 years he had lived in Fredonia. At the age of 18 he learned telegraphy and became a relief agent for the Bessemer & Lake Erie railroad. He was in the railroad service for a number of years and when he left in 1923 he was station agent at Fredonia . He then established a flour and feed mill at Fredonia and later periods at Sandy Lake, Franklin, Grove City, Hadley, Cochranton, Atlantic and Greenville, all of which are in successful operation. Mr. Freyermuth was a member of the Fredonia Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Netta Custead Freyermuth; a son, Oliver G. Freyermuth, Fredonia, associated with him in business; two daughters, Mrs. Howard Weatherby, Fredonia, and Mrs. Craig Stewart, of Rural Valley. There are two brothers: Henry F. and Daniel Freyermuth, both of Meadville, and three sisters: Mrs. Thurman Shilling, Meadville; Mrs. Howard Powell, Cochranton, and Mrs. Elizabeth Weaver, of Conneaut, O. Funeral services will be held at the family home, Wednesday evening at eight o'clock, conducted by Rev. G.B. Nolder, assisted by Rev. Charles Stunkard. The burial will take place Thursday morning at Cochranton. Friends may call at the home at any time.  |
